During the Mouse: P.I. For Hire job “A Bit of a Scene,” you’ll reach a point inside Clergy Row police station where you must solve a math puzzle to continue on your path. Alongside it, there’s a second, more difficult version of the same puzzle to unlock an optional door. Math can be difficult at the best of times, and when you just want to keep blasting the heads off crooked cops, we won’t blame you for looking up the solution.
Here’s how you solve the math puzzle in “A Bit of a Scene” in Mouse: P.I. For Hire with the levers to open the doors.
‘A Bit of a Scene’ math puzzle solution
When you make it to the jail cells in Clergy Row police station, you’ll find a room with three levers, a button, and a display through the window that says “00/26.” Beneath the three levers are signs indicating the first lever does +3, the second -2, and the third +7.
Your goal is to pull these levers to make 26. Sounds simple, but it can be confusing. Here’s the quickest route:
- Pull the +7 lever four times to make 28.
- Pull the -2 lever once to make 26.
Press the button on your left and the locked door at the end of the room will open.
However, there’s another puzzle to your right that follows the same logic, but is a little trickier. This one requires a total of 35, and the levers offer +3, +6, and -2. Here’s the quickest solution:
- Pull the +6 lever six times to make 36.
- Pull the +3 lever once to make 39.
- Pull the -2 lever twice to make 35.
Press the button and voilĂ , the other cell door at the end should open. Head inside to find a safe with a schematic inside, along with some cash.
